This project involved working with overseas clients who had a clear picture of achieving a rural lifestyle on this beautiful large lot. A concept was established to renovate the existing house on the site and create an adjoining wing to provide accommodation for extended family.

The large addition located adjacent to the existing single level house more than doubled the total floor area.  Extensive alterations were also undertaken to the existing house to link the new and the existing cohesively.  Our clients wanted a house in keeping with the site and context, with grand spaces connecting to the stunning land it sits on. 

The new wing includes 2 spacious bedroom wings linked by a grand double height living space with exposed roof beams and tongue & groove ceiling lining.  The living room on ground floor flows out onto a generous patio.  An architecturally designed portico provides a sheltered outdoor entertaining room.  All rooms have abundance of light and volume with a rich material palette inspired by the surrounding environment.
