I came to see Murray at CADman regarding my 4 new builds for a new 5 lot subdivision in Castor Bay early 2014 with floor plans from resource consent application. It was a very difficult site due to the complex landscape, with large retaining walls and overland flow path.
Murray took on the challenge. Daniel Sullivan started working on the details.
Being a difficult site, there had been quite a number of technical issues along the way. CADman have always been excellent at discussing the issues with me, providing options, and giving me the most cost effective advice.
It is rare, in the currently busy building industry that, anyone could keep to their words of delivery but Murray and Daniel have been on time consistently.
Daniel in particular has done a great job at following up with the City Council during the building consent application process.
The four building consents were approved by Council late 2014 and early 2015. It has been great experience with CADman.

"1940 Bungalow Renovation"
Murray Hird of CADman Architectural Design Ltd was employed by us in 2008 to design plans to renovate our 1940’s brick & tile bungalow in Westmere, Auckland.
His brief was to convert the small existing building of a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom, single garage site that was on a narrow section to a modern 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom, double garage, but having a design that was in keeping with the age of the district.
This task was difficult in the fact of working within the narrow site, already covered by 35%. therefore there was a need to make application for Resource Consent.
It was a major rebuild, in fact, there was only three outside walls and the floor left of the original building.
We found Murray and his team fulfilled all expectations and came up with a design that was in keeping with the age of the district, resolved the Resource Consent requirements, and had the plans pass through council with ease.
Murray Hird was very pleasant to work with, always listening to us his clients, whilst offering some great ideas, yet still working within the budget. He returned the result in excellent time, dealt with the council and was always available to the builder for discussion.
We would have no hesitation in recommending Murray Hird to any other clients.
